067 – Apple Fitness and Google Fit

The global fitness app market is expected to rise to an estimated value of $12.98 billion by 2026, registering a healthy CAGR in the forecast period of 2019-2026.

Apple recently announced the latest version of its smartwatch operating system, watchOS 7, during its digital-only WWDC keynote. The update comes with some major new additions like a rebranded Activity app, now called Fitness, and sleep tracking.  Alternatively, Google Fit collaborated with the American Heart Association to develop Heart Points, an activity goal based on their activity recommendations shown to impact health.  Google Fit also makes it easy to monitor your progress and track your activity right from your phone or smartwatch.  In this week’s show, we take a look at the recent announcements from Apple and the Google Fit ecosystems to help you track your personal health and fitness.
