The Carnivore Diet has garnered attention in recent years as it is a very restrictive diet that consists essentially of meat, fish and other animal foods like eggs and some dairy products. It excludes essentially all other food - fruits, vegetables, starches, grains, nuts, seeds, etc. This diet generally contradicts “conventional” wisdom and years of dietary research that supports a much more encompassing diet for overall health, disease prevention and longevity. The Carnivore Diet has a growing amount of anecdotal evidence coupled with a range of opinions and theories, but no scientific research yet exists that substantiates the Carnivore Diet.
